TeraSys Technologies, a leading provider of broadband microwave solutions, has recently been awarded a contract by the Hawaii Technology Development Venture (HTDV) to develop a broadband, high efficiency transmitter.

This high efficiency transmitter enables longer battery life for portable platforms while not compromising transmit power or linearity performance. Both manned platforms such as HMMVV and unmanned platforms such as ground robots can benefit from this technology. The broadband frequency response of this transmitter allows it to be used as part of a universal front end, allowing maximum mission flexibility with a single platform. Intended applications include long range communications, wideband radar, and electronic warfare.
